Heavier Than Air Flying Machines - Unmanageable Infrastructure (Or The Interstellar Nanobacterium Parasitic Infestation)

Siam (2011)

HTAFM share a similar spot in music with Iceage, only Pitchfork won’t BNM them or ever look at this year’s full length debut. The band is from the Grand Rapids, Michigan area. They are on the Michigan based label Friction (Bear Vs. Shark, Bars Of Gold, Maps And Atlases). The band has a rumbling lower end not unlike Big Black. The vocals are similar to Omar Rodrigues-Lopéz in both At The Drive In and Mars Volta. Siam is only around twenty-five minutes long, but it hits hard and fast; you will not be disappointed, if any of this description sparked your interest. You can purchase it here or on iTunes.

Great stuff! Not hearing that much Iceage but I’m hearing AtD-I and Bear vs Shark.

Cirith Ungol - Frost and Fire (Frost and Fire, 1980)

Great band, one of the first sort-of-obscure old metal groups I started listening to. They remind me of Manilla Road (who I don’t personally dig quite as much) in terms of style and quality, but while those guys were productive Cirith Ungol took their time with releases! Cirith Ungol also has slight doom leanings in some spots, and generally always have kickass cover art.

This is my patch/jacket collection. I have more, but these are my favorite. let’s just say… I spend a lot of time alone. I’d like to get a collection of all my band shirts on here and my vinyl collection… but here is this for now.
not pictured, my judas priest/sacrilege denim vest, my 80s vintage leather painted with onslaught, warfare, and onslaught. and a handful of other patches I own.

The best. I mean Bulldozer, NME, Detente, Sabbat… do I see Midnight? Some cool sorta obscure stuff in addition to essentials like Venom!

Metal Church… sooo underrated!

Metal Church… sooo underrated!

Interviewer: There’s no sexual parts, just round mounds.
Sara: That’s how I think of the boys when we’re in our bunks at night – they’re just round underneath there…
Interviewer: There’s no morning wood.
Sara: What’s that?
Interviewer: When a guy wakes up and his penis is erect which it usually is.
Sara: MORNING WOOD! See that is a term I didn’t even know! So thanks a lot.
